Cairo's Khan al Khalili Bazaar is an essential Egyptian experience. You'll have plenty of time to lose yourself in the colours and aromas of this fascinating marketplace. one of the world’s oldest. We’ll learn how various vendors prepare popular food, explore the Al Attarin spice and El Sagha gold markets, and take a break for tea at one of the iconic Cafés

Accommodation aboard the overnight train is in two berth cabins which convert to bunk beds. All bedding is provided on board and western style toilets are in each carriage. Your bags will be stored in your cabin, where airline style dinner and breakfast will be served. However, it may be worth bringing some additional snacks, especially if you are vegetarian or have dietary requirements. Your tour leader can help you to arrange this. Despite being a tourist class, train facilities are basic. Please also keep in mind general train cleanliness may not be to the same standards you are accustomed to.

The beautiful Temple of Isis (the Goddess of health, marriage and wisdom) that was rescued from the rising waters of the Nile and relocated on Philae Island.
It's a marvel of decorative pylons featuring some of Egypt's nest carvings – denitely one of the real gems of Upper Egypt. Access to the temple is by small motorboats.

You will experience modern Nubian culture firsthand with a visit to a nearby village. Join a local Nubian family for a memorable dinner and get an insight into the daily life of the local people. Here you will have the chance to see a different side of Egyptian life, try out some wonderful Nubian dishes and swap stories with your Welcome hosts.

Enjoy the warm hospitality (and cuisine) of these locals. You will also be treated to some Nubian dancing, and may even have the chance to try some moves yourself.

● Aswan Komombo Temple Entrance

Kom Ombo temple (about 45km north of Aswan city) which sits picturesquely ruined on the river's edge and provides an interesting insight into the Greco Roman period.
The temple was built approx. 181BC and is dedicated to 2 Gods: Horus the protection god and Sobek fertility god linked to the Nile Water. The temple consists of 2 identical sections in the North and South each dedicated to either God.

In the Sobek section recent discoveries have been made of mummied Crocodiles, which are now displayed in the Crocodile Museum attached to the temple, don't miss it!

The Colossi of Memnon, 17 meters high statues used to ank the entrance of the funerary temple of king Amenhotep the 3rd the grandfather of Tutankhamen.

Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the most famous queen of Egypt, the one that ruled for 21 years which is considered the longest period a queen ruled, the temple set in a spectacular natural amphitheater.

Travel south on the Desert Highway, stopping at Madaba, known for its stunning Byzantine mosaics, including the famous 6th-century map at St George’s Church.

Visit other mosaic-rich sites and admire scenes of nature, mythology, and daily life.
Continue to Mt Nebo, the biblical site where Moses viewed the Promised Land, with sweeping views of the Jordan Valley. Along the way, spot traditional Bedouin tents and learn about their enduring nomadic lifestyle.

Take a gentle walk-through Dana village, a charming spot in a nature reserve with terraced gardens, craft workshops, and beautiful views. Then, head to Petra for an overnight stay.

Important Information

  • There is a fair amount of walking involved in exploring the pyramids and it can get very hot in the summer.

    Be sure your family has appropriate clothing, sun protection and plenty of water to drink.

  • Evenings can get quite cool, so it's best to bring warm clothes too. Wearing layers is the best way to deal

    with the disparity in day and night temperatures.

  • Jordan requires a certain level of modesty in terms of clothing, although on the beach the usual swimwear is acceptable.

  • Minimum age: 4 years old. Please note, anyone aged under 18 must be accompanies by (and share

    accommodation with) a parent or legal guardian

  • A single supplement is available on this trip and required for any solo-occupancy rooms.

  • Internal Flight please note the standard check in luggage allowance is 23 kg for EgyptAir.

  • Please provide your full name exactly as per passport at the time of booking (including any middle names
